You may want to enlarge the screen for a moment so that you can see the sand tray up close. I did this tray in August, 2015. Seated on a Rock Island in the middle of the ocean is a fully enlightened teacher, in the guise of a frog. (You just never know!) On the sand shoreline facing the master are a group of strong, powerful animals who are not only facing the master, but protecting her. Propped up at the midline of the box, and in line with the animals is a heart made out of redrock. So the line facing and protecting enlightenment are the most powerful warriors who are embewed with love. There is a pathway of stones up a small hill that leads to a small human family, also protected by a corner and the warmth of fire. The animals seem to be protecting the human family as well.
Perched high above all of this is a very tiny chipmunk, who is almost invisible due to his size and position. But this chipmunk has a global view of the sand world, and perhaps the highest, clearest view as a guardian. Last, but not least, is a very large squirrel who is holding an acorn, and perched on a corner away from everyone, but he too has a great vantage point for watching from a small pit in the earth.
The lesson: There is a network that is watching and protecting and supporting enlightenment on the planet earth. They are a living presence, warriors with the power of love. Some are unseen, some keep a low profile, some are a strong and open line of defenders. The humans, who have a pathway to awakening, are protected by this network of guardians–who are facing Samadhi!
